After reading all the good reviews, I took the plunge.On closer examination, I soon realized that without the monitoring service from SafeMart, the unit is just a $450 doorstop. There is no Ethernet port nor any other means for me to monitor myself remotely if I opt out of SafeMart. So I am paying $450 for the hardware only to pay $30 per month for the service. Moreover, the unit does not have a way to trigger a laud alarm just like a car alarm to scare off the intruders, with or without the monitoring service.While this is a decent system, it does not meet my expectations at the asking price. I returned it today. Initially signed on with ADT. Their "free" system was useless for my house and I later changed to Safemart. Their hardware prices are about half of ADT's, and you'll need more hardware than you get with ADT's "free" system. No Smoke Alarm with them. Monthly monitor fee was $47/Mo with ADT, $19.95 with Safemart. I had a problem with weak cell phone signal, and Safemart promptly sent me a new system that works off a different network for FREE. Overall, very satisfied with them, so far. I had to say that because "you never know......" I purchased the wireless alarm system recently. I did everything over the phone and computer. Incredibly easy! I installed the entire system in just over an hour testing each component as I went along. The whole experience - from ordering the right components; shipment; instructions; installation; system set-up - was as smooth as silk! The components come labeled to where they need to go and everything is already programmed into the system. I recommend this to everyone. The system itself is the easiest system I have ever used and it is not tied into your home line (wireless), so they can cut your phone lines all they want - you're still protected. No messy drilling and pulling wires - everything is double stick tape. I will be adding components to my system - without a doubt!
