Have had extended contact with Adobe about installation and registration of CS6. Have had to uninstall and reinstall, individual programs or entire suite at least 2 dozen times. The Adobe uninstall tool is a joke. I have had over a dozen calls with technical support. While some support staff seem to have some knowledge of the programs the majority continue to put you on hold with the resulting phone calls of up to 2 hours. Over 2 hours on several occassions. Some of the problems deal with poor language skills but they are mostly lack of familiarity of the registration part of the program. After about an hour many of the support staff get very nervous or frustrated and at least one stated that he had been working on my problem too long, minutes later I was mysteriously cut off and had to start another hour plus call with again no resolution. The one time that I was being turned over to a supervisor I was on hold for 1 and 1/2 hours with no one ever picking up I have used Smart...
Even basic creative editing software can be overwhelming until you become familiar with the workspace and tools.Adobe products are mostly geared to serious hobbyists and professionals. There are so many tools, panels, palettes, and menus that it can quickly become overwhelming. Expect to read a lot, watch videos, and ask for help. Even after using this for a couple of years, I keep a shelf full of reference materials nearby. No matter how familiar you are with the software, there is always more to learn. If you are dabbling you might want to stick with Paintshop or Elements. Their workspace is not completely intuitive either, but the investment is less. The last time I used those programs was when PSP X2 was out, so it has been awhile. I liked both. I preferred PSP for photography but found elements had cleaner programming and did cleaner extractions , etc. it also let me be lazier because the filters and actions did the work for me. I am glad that I...
I've been buying collector's editions, limited editions and other super-special games, albums, movies and books for years and one thing most of them have in common is a great presentation. For around $100, you can get a game with about a dozen different kinds of goodies like extra discs, flash drives, color posters and other things. The boxes are sometimes even on the fancy felt-lined side with all content fitting neatly into the mold. With Adobe CS6 Master Collection, you get a small cardboard box with a slipcover, two small square pieces of paper with activation instructions and a reminder to read the license agreement and three discs in paper sleeves contained in a flimsy cardboard slip with the serial number on it. Even Microsoft packages its software with a bit of class, and for $2,200-whatever, Adobe could well afford to throw in some goodies. For a company that's all about content design, they dropped the ball on this. I can't mark it down for it because...
