Description

The Satechi 4-Port USB 3.0 Premium Aluminum Hub adds four USB 3.0 ports to your Mac or PC to connect 4 USB devices for accessing smartphones, external hard drives, cameras, flash drives, keyboards, printers, and more. This compact USB hub fits on your desk without taking up precious desktop space and the angled design allows for convenient access to all four USB ports.

Designed to match Macs, iMacs, and MacBooks
Its metallic silver finish and Apple-styled curved edge with shielded white cable complement Apple computers and products.

Performance
USB 3.0 SuperSpeed provides data rates of up to 5.0Gbps - 10 times faster than USB 2.0. Transfer photos, music, HD movies, and more to a USB 3.0 external storage device faster than ever before.

Easy to Use
No software installation is required to use this hub. Just plug it into an available USB port and blue LED lights on each port indicate it's powered on and ready to use.

Compatibility
Compatible with Windows 8/7/Vista/XP/2003/2000/ME, Mac OS X (latest updates from Apple required), and Linux kernels 3.0 and later. Full forward and backward compatibility between USB 3.0 and 2.0/1.1 hosts and devices.

Please note:
2.4Ghz wireless devices, such as wireless keyboard and mouse adapters, may not work in close proximity to USB 3.0 devices or hubs. Connecting to a USB 2.0 port is recommended.
This hub functions as a USB hub only, to connect USB 3.0, 2.0, USB 1.1 devices to your computer, and is not a standalone device charger.

This is a nice-looking and easy-to-use accessory for almost any laptop, but works great with my Macbook Pro. I love my new Macbook Pro, and love that it's got a faster USB format than my older one - but I don't like the fact that I've only got two plugs, one on either side.I need to charge and connect with lots of USB devices, and this allows me to do that.Use: just plug it in to one of your USB 3.0 ports (it is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 but of course you won't get faster speeds like that. One thing I worried about was whether splitting the port between four devices would slow each down - but in my experience it is really the device that limits speed. For example, I've got a variety of USB 3.0 external hard drives, and each one has its own speed, and none of them approach the theoretical 5GB/s transfer speeds that Mac says the USB 3.0 port can reach. I have one device that, when plugged in alone, transfers at about 65 MB/s, and another that when plugged...
