Description Kenwood KMR-355U Marine CD/MP3 Player - 88 W RMS - iPod/iPhone Compatible - Single DIN KMR-355U Car Stereo Receivers Ordered the radio for my BOAT. Arrived as expected. Looked at face plate...the cover over the USB port is a flimsy piece of plastic...so I thought...'how could this be waterproof/resistant?' Before installing, I emailed Kenwood. Here is their response: "The KMR-355U is coated to help prevent corrosion from humid areas like the marine environment. The radio is not protected from direct exposure to water." Well...if it is NOT protected from water, it sure isn't designed for a boat. I returned it.I have since ordered a more expensive version of the Kenwood line...KMR-700. It is supposed to be water-tight. Installed this in the cuddy on my Seacraft and it sounds great! I like how I can control the songs from the Ipod when using a USB. Most the car radios make you use the receiver. Think I might pick another one up for the truck. Installed it in my pontoon boat and tried it for the first time yesterday. Love the USB port! Plugged a thumb drive in and it played perfectly! Great price and quick delivery for a radio with this many features. Very happy with my purchase.
