Description Microsoft Office is the most-trusted and most-used productivity suite around the world. And Office for Mac 2011 is here to help you do more with your Mac on your terms. This is actually the third time I've bought a piece of software digitally through Amazon, which makes three less useless CDs I have to find room for after the initial installation. The first piece I bought is years old, but it remains in my "Digital Library" in my account. It's nice to know it's always there for me should I need it, but it's even nicer to know that I have the software without the garbage and clutter that accompanies the physical hardware.Traditionally (prior to 2009ish) I always felt that I needed the actual disks "just in case". Like so many things in life, I've spent too many worthless moments preparing for some dark day that has yet to come (KNOCK ON WOOD!) Perhaps it was just easier to justify the $150 when I actually had something to hold in my hand. But the program works as it always has for me. It's Excel, Word, etc...just as they have always been on cd. The download guides one to install the Amazon downloader, then the Microsoft installer takes... I am getting better at purchasing digital downloadable software. I experienced no delays or problems. It only took a few minutes using my high speed internet connection. I also have the assurance that my software in in my digital library should I ever need to download it again.I am one of those people that is used to Microsoft Office and have had a difficult time moving to the iWork package. There are things I like and dislike about both programs, however, I prefer the Office product over iWork. If you were a heavy user of Excel and Outlook be prepared for hours of frustrating web searches for work arounds which usually involve buying or downloading what seems to be an endless stream of apps needed for the most basic of operations.. Despite what Apple tells you this is NOT a duplicate of Office Professional. NO BCM, no Paint, no syncing of calendars with your phone or iPad and forget any CRM Outlook interface. Excel is much slower than Office 2007..hurry up and wait. Highlighting and moving text in Outlook is horrible and takes several attempts. If you want to include a section of an excel sheet in the email body there will be no grid lines or cell outlines. If you want to include an image in the body of your email there is no way to change the size once you paste it into the body of the email. The rec. work around? Open Word , paste , resize ,copy and paste again . Lather* rinse* repeat until you obtain the size you need....great fun and so productive. Or feel free to...
