I purchased this battery during the initial Kickstarter funding because of upcoming overseas trips. With a 8+ hour flight, daily touring and evenings spent meeting friends at local pubs I knew my phone would not likely make it through a day without some extra battery help. I was very impressed with how well it performed and it surpassed even my best hopes.During the first week it was charged only one time (right before my flight back home) and was a nightly addition to the table at the bars and pubs. After powering my phone, others were using it to charge their phones for the evenings and it barely made a dent in its ability to power my gadgets. For such a high capacity battery, it was surprisingly easy to carry around during the day. I never once had it get in the way and was easy to drop in a pocket for quick power throughout the day.Overall, this is a great product that is a must for any heavy use smart phone or for the traveler. Why get a 6000mAh battery at this price when Amazon and ebay are littered with higher capacity batteries (10,000 and more) for much less?Well, not all power packs are equal, and if you focus on the capacity number you quickly lose sight of the big picture. A power pack is comprised of batteries (usually Lithium Ion) and a controller. A good controller (and Zendure developed one of the best) will make sure your batteries are properly charged and deliver power when needed in an optimal fashion and with a high rate of efficiency. A more pedestrian controller, like those you'll find in cheap no-brand ebay power packs, will be much less efficient, which means its 10,000mAh can end up delivering less power than the 6000mAh Zendure; it may put more wear on the cells; and finally it may be a lot less smart in terms of when to go on or off (Zendure put particular attention to this critical issue, so that you can keep a connected phone topped off intelligently).Then, there's the... |
