It is dual voltage and can operate at 1.35V and 1.5V, allowing for lower voltage use. It is Unbuffered and is non-ECC. I originally bought Komputerbay RAM because of the price, but they failed. Returned those and spent a few extra bucks on Crucial. Totally glad I did, because after running a few RAM tests, all tests passed and it has made a significantly noticeable difference with my macbook pro's performance. Very much recommended.
I have an iMac 27 inch unit that has four memory slots. There were 2 --twoG memory in two of the slots. I tried to install two 8 G to bring my Apple up to 16G. That was a mistake on my part. The slots are designed for NO MORE than 4 G in each slot and the total memory is limited to 16G. I had to return these for the correct pieces of memory.
I purchased some cheap no-name memory to upgrade my iMac about a year ago and after noticing a few crashes and hangs, discovered that my memory had gone bad. So, I found this Crucial 16GB kit and purchased them immediately. As usual, Amazon is incredible and I received them within 48 hours of even considering getting new memory. So far I've been happy - no hangups or forced restarts. I'm using this memory in my late 2011 iMac 27" 3.4GHz i7 ontop of the 8GB Apple memory (probably Samsung memory) for a total of 24GB of RAM.
