I have several external batteries to boost my iPhone 5S and frankly I hardly use them because they have to be carried separately. Even though extended battery cases add bulk to your phone, I prefer them for those occasions I know I might need a boost before I can get back to a place to plug my phone into some juice. The LifeCHARGE is the second extended battery case I have gotten for my iPhone and it's a good one. Both were provided in exchange for my honest review. My other is for my iPhone 5S. This one is for the 5C, so my daughter's phone is the one I used for the review.First of all, as a case, the LifeCHARGE offers protection while increasing the bulk of your phone minimally. The battery has to go somewhere and they've done a good job of designing the case so that my phone still feels pretty good in my hand and goes in and out of my pocket easily. This case takes a bit of a different approach than the other one I have in that my other one has the Lightning port...
This is an excellent case that offers protection, superb fit and feel, full open access to bottom ports, and extra juice when you need it. It has a hard plastic back and a nice rubberized top that grips your phone very nicely. I like the soft rubber because it's easy to get the phone in and out, it's nice and soft up against the phone, hugs the phone, and forms a nice seal against dust. It does add a bit of thickness and weight, but still fits in pockets and very comfortable. I love that there is full open access to the bottom ports - this means I have unrestricted access to the headphone port and don't have to use an extension or remove the case to use headphones. I like that it also adds a second way to charge the phone, I can charge with the OEM charger which is expensive to buy replacements and break all the time, or with any micro usb cable which I have a lot of now. To charge the phone, you pull out the shorty lightning cable from the case and plug into the phone then...
Most extended battery cases on the market are aimed at the 5S, so I wanted to test this when I was offered a review sample. This battery/case combination differs from all others in that it's primarily a case that just happens to include extended battery back-up. In fact, unlike the others (mainly for the 5S), this one has a larger botton cutout that provides complete access to the 5C's charging port and 3.5mm connection. That eliminates the need for a 3.5mm pigtail that many other cases require, and also allows you to charge your phone using its native Lightning connector and this case's battery using the included USB connector.A great feature is the case itself. It does all size and weight to your 5C, so if you are into the trendy, sleek look of that phone you may be disappointed in this (as well as just about any other extended battery cases on the market). However, if you are pragmatic, this is ideal because the case itself affords a lot of protection. The...
