The battery is sealed in a static-resistant plastic sleeve, the top and bottom of the battery have a protective plastic film that is easily removed before installation. The battery is sandwiched between two sections of foam, inside a sturdy cardboard box. The package includes a tiny (cheap) screwdriver and a set of battery screws. ( I used a Wiha precision jewelers screwdriver) I strongly suggest using a high quality screwdriver to avoid stripping out the tiny phillips screws on the cover and battery mounts. This really is a NEW battery... it looks slightly different than the original because of heavy tape on the underside and along the top edge. This proved a little difficult for the center battery mount screw... I cut away a little section of the tape to make it fit better. Also, the taped edge on the battery's connector side may have loosed, take time to carefully press it onto the battery edge... So I installed this battery in my MacBook Air. It was easy thanks to online videos illustrating the process. It worked perfectly for about 3 weeks. Then, for reasons known only to the gremlins who zapped it, battery stopped charging. Even though the Amazon return period had expired, MPower replaced it without any questions asked. New one is AOK. I guess any electronic gizmo can fail but I'm impressed by how MPower has stood behind their product. I needed a new battery for my Air Mac and Apple was charging way to much so I found this Great product at a very good price,thanks
