I originally bought Komputerbay RAM because of the price, but they failed. Returned those and spent a few extra bucks on Crucial. Totally glad I did, because after running a few RAM tests, all tests passed and it has made a significantly noticeable difference with my macbook pro's performance. Very much recommended.
I upgraded from 2x2gb RAM to this 2x8gb RAM and had very little problems installing this product. After installation, I booted up my laptop and it immediately recognized that I had 16gb of RAM. However, once I opened Chrome, my computer froze. After a hard reset, I rebooted the laptop and I have since had no issues at all.My computer is much faster. Next purchase.... a solid state drive!
I was looking to beef up my new MacBook Pro - new as in an overstock 17 inch that was replacing my 17 inch that drank a cup of coffee. The only option was to purchase the exact same 17 inch with 4 GB of RAM (my "old" mid- 2010 17 inch had 8 GB RAM). I searched, cross referenced numbers and found this on Amazon for less than ever other place. I had it shipped overnight and it arrived today (overnight) which surprised me since we just got hit with a bad snow storm yesterday (that really impressed me). I installed this memory earlier today and am happy to announce that it works perfect and amazing! The speed of the system has increased tremendously - but even more so - I use this computer with Pro Tools (audio recording software) and it runs so smooth now and flawless. Now I have a MBP with 16 gigs of memory - which if I do not pour coffee on - should give me many years of use. Great product for sure!
