Description
Archgon's Premium External Blu-Ray Writer Super Multi Drive clads in a beautiful aluminum casing, using a high performance Panasonic UJ-260 drive inside which supports the latest BD-XL burning technology, and the playing of 3D content. Please note that Apple does not support Blu-Ray, and the Blu-Ray drive does not come with software, you need to purchase/download additional 3rd party Blu-Ray software in order to play or burn blu-ray disk with this unit. For CD &DVD, the unit is plug & play, you can use Apple's iTune and iDVD, as well as other software to read, play, and burn CD &DVD. The external drive is compatible with both Mac &PC.
Highly recommended. Its works great on my mid 2012 MacBook Pro (i7 quad core running OS X 10.8). I plugged it in and it worked perfectly, no driver installs, and all my existing software saw the drive and worked with it as expected.Likes:Works right out of the box (no drivers needed)Very smallVery lightweightExcellent for laptop users who need to carry it with themNo power supply needed (nor is any supplied)USB 2.0 cable supplied (this is one of those special double headed cables, in case you have an older computer that can't sufficient power via one USB port, then yo would simply plug in the other tendril into another USB port, unlike other Blu-ray drives on the market, this second cable is long enough to reach all the way around to the other side of a laptop, for those that have one USB port on each side. On my MacBook Pro I have only used the one port, and have successfully burned dozens of perfectly functioning disks).Tough...
I received the BLU RAY writer today and plugged it in and VOILA a blu ray on the MAC. It looks beautiful and works beautiful andthe BLU RAY movies are beautiful....I down loaded the MACGO software, they let you try it out first, so you can't lose. All in alla great deal.
Received mine today, hooked it up to my new Mac Book Pro - Retina display and was pleased with the ease in installation. I had to (pay for) download a Blu-Ray player app for $40, but it works like a charm. No issues and worth the costs... Super simple set-up is always worth $$ to me..
