Get this! No, really. This is such a fantastic keyboard.I've been using Apple's Bluetooth keyboard for years and hated replacing the batteries every month or so. My solution was to buy Mobee's wireless charging solution with battery pack. While that does work, I found myself recharging my keyboard weekly which wasn't really ideal. Plus the thought of having this big metal bar sitting on my deskt kind of defeated the whole "wireless" aspect of Apple's Bluetooth keyboard. In enters this. I've only had it for a few days now and I found myself typing faster and liking the overall design of it compared to Apple's. While they both are very similar, Logitech offers rounded buttons which have a nice 'gummy' touch to them while Apple's is very rough. One of the better features is obviously the backlighting which can go on when the keyboard senses your hand (it's creepy). You can also turn it off completely if you have no interest in it...but I find myself...
I rarely write product reviews for anything, but I just had to write a review for this great keyboard. I received this keyboard yesterday, a day earlier than expected, and it works! It really really works! A lot of the bluetooth keyboards I've owned before never quite could compare to the apple wireless keyboard, but this logitech k811 certainly does. For starters, it was so easy to pair on the mac, and even easier on the iPhone. On the iPhone and iPad, it didn't even ask me to put a code in, but on the mac it did. Also, the build of this keyboard is great, it feels sturdy when holding it. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this product.
There are a lot of rave reviews for this product and it's understandable. It's a good keyboard, but...Compared to the Apple Bluetooth keyboard:-- It has excellent functionality. The multiple device support, the backlight, even the feel, although subjective, could be considered better.-- It's made of mostly plastic. It has sharp edges. It feels a bit... flimsy. In short, this is a really great keyboard, but it's not a slam-dunk-better-than-Apple product. The Apple keyboard has better build, but fewer features. This keyboard does a lot of cool things and works very well. I like it, but whether it's right for YOU depends on what you value. If you need the multi-device support, and/or the backlight, then get it. If you value quality construction without a bright "Logitech" (!) logo blaring at you, get the Apple keyboard. The Apple keyboard is more subtle; the Logitech is more functional... but a little bit crude. Unfortunately.
