I was searching high and low for a quality laptop brief that was made to hold my 13" Macbook Air and iPad. I've had several Timbuk2 bags that partially filled the bill, but I was always left wanting a little more. I've tried several Tumi bags, but these always tended to be too large for a smaller laptop and I was having to pack items around the computer to keep it from flopping around. I absolutely love the side entry for the laptop on the STM Velo bag, it's super easy to access and the padding is second to none for a laptop compartment. It fits my 13" Macbook air like a glove, but would provide enough room for the standard Macbooks as well. The interior compartments provide ample room for expansion but allow the case to be compact should you not fill all pockets to the brim. I think the buckles on this bag provide a much more secure closure than the hook and loop type found on many of the other bag options of this size. One unique feature of this bag is the clean,...
...one of the straps on the bottom completely came unstitched. Really? In just over two months, without me using this bag every day, and only occasionally using the snaps, the nylon was dangling by a thread. I have to admit I'm a bit disappointed in the quality if that's the case in such a short time. What's going to break next? The shoulder strap?Aside from that minor issue (which I will probably see about getting fixed or exchanging this bag for a new one), I've been pleased with the bag itself.Pros:-lots of pockets for all my little items. (actually too many--I don't use them all)-roomy interior (I've been surprised by how much I can cram in there--and I have yet to max it out in a daily trip to the coffee shop)-generous back pouch for the laptop compartment (I slide my MacBook Pro, 13-inch in easily with its clip-on cover in place)-adjustable shoulder strap and cushy shoulder pad-easy access to the small zipper pocket in front...
This bag is definitely the best I've had so far. I commute to work by train and I have to carry a lot of other things apart from just my laptop. This bag makes the laptop easily accessible and the laptop is well protected. I can also carry a professional headphone, books, tablet, water bottle, eyewear , food and an umberella apart from the laptop accessories. It is very durable and I am sure it will last me a lifetime.
