This is a review of the Astro Pro2 20000mAh battery pack.I am impressed with this pack. It is good looking and well built, enclosed in a nice aluminum enclosure. It feels very solid & includes a multitude of mobile phone and notebook connectors. If you have a USB device that charges via USB, then there should be a connector for it.Pros:* Relatively high capacity at 20000mAh/74Wh* Easily charge it with the included AC adapter* Very nice brushed aluminum enclosure & great build quality* The notebook output has a voltage selection of 19V, 16V, or 12V.* Easy check of battery level with the push of a button... just look to see how many of 5 green LEDs are lit.* Lots of connection options to change USB devices, mobile phones, and notebooks (see the product description for the details - no need to repeat them here)Cons:* Even with lots of connection options, it may not support your notebook/ultrabook - or may...
There are several reviews that complain of two faults with this external battery, and the reviewers downgrade it as a result. I have found that these issues are not really problems.1st Reported Issue: The USB port doesn't work.Yes, it probably does - it just doesn't work automatically. Unlike the 12v,16v and 19v pin output which begins charging your device as soon as it is plugged in, the USB output port has to be turned on by pressing the front panel button on the battery. This can be confusing and I believe several people just decided the USB charge port didn't work when it didn't begin charging their USB devices. Just push the button and it will work.2nd Reported Issue: The battery can be shorted making it uselessI thought this too after I accidentally connected the input and output ports on the battery. It went dead immediately and nothing would get it to start. However, Anker support suggested I connect the battery to the wall charger...
